The Brisbane Girls Debating Association will be holding a Special General Meeting (SGM) to vote on a proposed amendment to nature of membership selection. We will also be holding an information session after the vote for interested schools, teachers and adjudicators. If you are interested in participating in the BGDA competition in any of those capacities you are encouraged to attend.
When: Tuesday 26 November, 2013
Time: 6pm
Where: Brisbane Girls Grammar School - Bain Staff Centre (Top floor)
Who: Adjudicators, staff, graduating students, parents and friends of the Brisbane Girls Debating Association
You are eligible to vote in the SGM if you meet any of the following:
a) Have adjudicated for BGDA in the past 12 months
b) Are a participating school in the BGDA competition - only ONE representative per school may vote, although multiple may attend
c) Are a member of the BGDA Executive
The amendment proposed by the Executive alters the constitution to allow any individual (meeting the prescribed conditions) to apply to become a member of the Association to be approved by a simple majority vote. The attachment below details the specific requirements and process and all members are encouraged to read the amendment and vote at the SGM. If you have any queries about the amendment or the meeting, please write to [email protected] and your concerns will be promptly answered.
