Empower The Next Generation Of Female Debaters With The BGDA
The BGDA Competition is an incredibly important and necessary tournament. By offering young women the opportunity to increase our debating experience, it allows us to compete on a local, national and international stage. Personally, I found the in-depth and engaging feedback we received after each debate to be an amazing tool in improving my debating.

Our sponsors believe that debating provides vital skills that enable individuals to succeed in a modern world where public speaking, teamwork and flexibility are highly valued commodities. Through their sponsorship, they are demonstrating commitment to reducing the gender gap and helping develop and support of the next generation of female leaders.
Funds raised from sponsors enable the BGDA to reduce the influence of socio-economic status on the opportunities young women get in debating by offering fee waivers for teams from schools that would be otherwise unable to participate. Furthermore, the support of sponsors helps the BGDA develop training materials and seminars that can hone the skills of debaters and teach debating in institutions that may not be able to afford highly qualified coaches. Other ways that sponsors help achieve the mission of the BGDA is by improving the quality of adjudicators and helping us to expand the competition to other areas of South-East Queensland in the future.
