Continuing the BGDA's mission of enabling all women to access debating as a means of empowerment and confidence building, the Executive is happy to announce that the BGDA will for the first time in the 2015 Competition introduce fee waivers for low SES schools and students.
The BGDA continues to offer the lowest fees of any debating competition in operation in South-East Queensland though acknowledges that even the current fee structure may be a significant financial burden on some institutions and participants. Recognising that all peoples should have the same access to educational opportunities, the BGDA is committed to ensuring that socio-economic factors do not hinder participation in our competition.
As such, schools may either in their own capacity or on the behalf of students apply to have the fees partially or completely waived for one or more teams. If you would like more information on this policy, please go to the fee waiver page.
